Catching up ...  On the same vacation as the SPCA rescue we flew our friends giant kite on the beach in Monterey CA.

SPCA Pelican Rescue

We recently took a trip to Monterey CA to visit with friends who were in town. During an afternoon trip to the shoreline near Pacific Grove we noticed an injured pelican. One of our friends dialed the Monterey County SPCA who came out for the rescue. I decided to photograph the event. For more info on SPCA check out the Monterey County site.

Brazil

We recently took a family vacation to Brazil. We flew into Sao Paulo then drove along the coast to Rio. Here are a couple pics from the journey.

So I got a little busy...

It has been a couple days since my last post. While I was away Ewan was born. Now he is almost 17 months old. Time really flies.

Vistors 01/30/2010

A few weeks ago we had Bill, Krista, and Molly for a visit. Molly just happens to be my favorite photo subject in addition to being my GD. We made a trip to the farmers market as well as campus point around sunset. I am including a shot of Bill and Krista mainly to document that "thing."



Molly had a nice time at the beach. With the 10 mm lens she really looks like a giant.

Jesusita Trail 02/13/2010

A couple weekends ago we took a hike with Dan to check out wild flowers on Jesusita Trail in Santa Barbara. The Abacus took most of the flower photos. I am including one of my favorites that she didn't post just so you see that we saw flowers.



I tried to frame a shot of cactus in a gate during a rest break on the hike.



The photographic highlight came when The Abacus spotted an alligator lizard in the trail. Dan has a nice 100mm macro lens. After he took a few shots he loaned it to me. I really like the eye.
